How is Labiaplasty Performed?
It is a fairly simple and quick outpatient procedure usually performed under local anesthesia. The surgery usually takes between 1-2 hours.
During the procedure, excess tissue on the labia minora is removed with a laser. Special skin staples are then placed along the edges of the labia. Once in place, the edges are closed with absorbable sutures and the staples are removed. In some cases, liposuction is performed to remove or eliminate excess tissue of the labia majora.
