Dr. Gabriel H. Patino offers Juvederm® treatments in Oakland, Berkeley, and surrounding areas of California.
Juvederm® is a smoothing filler gel made from hyaluronic acid, a substance that is completely natural and restores volume and moisture into the skin. Not only does it fill in folds and can plump up depressions and creases, it is long lasting. Better than collagen for its smoothness and ability to shape and sculpt with, Juvederm® is one of the most sought after dermal fillers for its natural look and feel.
How Much Does Juvederm® Cost in Oakland?
The price for Juvederm® will be variable, depending on your own personal goals and needs. The staff at the Cosmetic Surgical Center of El Cerrito will talk with you and estimate your price along with informing you of your financial options during the first consultation. For more information, see our patient financing page.
Am I a Good Candidate for Juvederm®?
Juvederm® is a facial rejuvenation procedure approved by the FDA as effective in helping the appearance of:
- Lip Sculpting
- Frown lines
- Wrinkles and folds
- Forehead and brow wrinkles
By using a thin syringe of filling agent, Dr. Patino is able to address these issues in about thirty minutes.
What Can I Expect After Juvederm®?
Results from Juvederm® typically last up to a year. There will be some noticeable effects immediately after the procedure, and then more pronounced effects from one to two weeks afterwards. There may be some side effects including swelling, redness, tenderness, and bruising, however these are not long-lasting. Talk with us about your aftercare instructions following the Juvederm® procedure.
Most patients will need follow-up visits every six months to a year to keep the beneficial effects noticeable.
Additional Skin Rejuvenation Treatments
While Botox® and Juvederm® are both injectable treatments, they do very different things. Botox® is typically used around the upper third of the face and reduces “action wrinkles” by temporarily freezing the muscles in the treated areas. Juvederm®, on the other hand, is typically used around the lower two-thirds of the face and reduces fine lines and wrinkles by adding volume to the treated area.
Juvederm® treatments typically last between nine and 12 months before wearing off. Dr. Patino and his team may recommend coming in for regular treatments every nine months to maintain your desired results.
Juvederm® is typically used for the following:
- Reducing smile lines or parentheses around the mouth
- Treating marionette lines from the corners of the mouth down to the chin
- Smoothing lipstick lines or vertical lip lines
- Adding volume to sunken or hollowed cheeks
- Plumping thin lips
- Contouring the jawline
Yes, you will be able to see some results of your Juvederm® treatment immediately following your appointment with Dr. Patino. That being said, the full results of your Juvederm® treatment will become visible a few days later once all swelling subsides.
Juvederm® itself is a minimally invasive injectable treatment that many of our patients are able to tolerate without any anesthetic. That being said, Dr. Patino and his team are more than happy to apply a topical anesthetic to your treatment if you wish. Following your Juvederm® treatment, you may experience swelling bruising in your treated areas. This is normal and typically subsides within a few days of treatment.
