Restylane ® in Oakland, CA
Many men and women want a fresher appearance by rejuvenating their skin and softening lines and wrinkles. Fortunately, medical-grade non-surgical cosmetic treatments are now available. One of the best anti-aging treatments is Restylane®, an injectable dermal filler that uses hyaluronic acid, or HA, to give you younger, healthier skin. Residents of Oakland, Berkeley and nearby communities in California can find Restylane® treatments at The Cosmetic Surgical Center of El Cerrito, home of Dr. Gabriel Patino.
What is Restylane ®?
Restylane® is a hyaluronic acid based product that reduces the signs of aging by attracting water to your skin. The water adds volume under your skin, giving it a renewed support structure in the deeper layers. HA occurs naturally in your skin, and the HA in Restylane® is completely plant-based, so the treatments do not involve synthetic substances. Dr. Patino recommends Restylane® for treating:
- Marionette lines at the corners of the mouth
- Advanced skin folds on the face
- Lines and wrinkles
Benefits of Restylane ®
Restylane® is an FDA-approved product that is clinically proven to treat:
- Lines, wrinkles and creases on the face
- Add volume to delicate skin around the mouth and eyes
- Reduce the appearance of scars
How is Restylane® Administered?
Restylane® is an injectable product that is administered into your skin with a very fine needle. The needle is smaller than what is used for your immunizations, so most patients are quite comfortable during the procedure. Dr. Patino may use a numbing agent on your skin to help eliminate any discomfort associated with the insertion of the needle. He injects the appropriate amount of Restylane® at several sites around the treatment area. He then massages your skin to ensure proper distribution of the HA. For most patients, the treatment takes less than one hour.
Preparing for Restylane®
Restylane® treatments are minimally-invasive and do not require general anesthesia. You do not need to prepare for the treatment beyond setting aside 30 to 60 minutes for the appointment.
You do not have to rest or change your activities after a Restylane® treatment, although you may have some mild bruising, tenderness and swelling that is localized around the injection sites. These symptoms typically last for only 48 hours and can be easily covered with concealer. Restylane® gives you up to six months of younger-looking skin.
How Much Does Restylane® Cost?
As an injectable product, Restylane® is priced according to the amount of product that is used. Dr. Patino bases the dosage on the severity of your lines and wrinkles, the number of injection sites and other factors. Financing is available through American Healthcare Lending and CareCredit®. Both of these options offer convenient and affordable monthly payments, and you can pre-qualify before your consultation. You can also pay by credit card, personal check or cash.
Are Restylane® Injections Right For Me?
Restylane® is effective for treating certain cosmetic issues on the cheeks, lips, and chin. The product adds volume and reduces signs of aging. Dr. Patino may recommend alternative treatments or ask you to delay treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, as clinical trials have not been conducted to determine the safety of Restylane® in these situations. Certain medications and medical conditions may also mean that you are not a good candidate for Restylane® treatments.
