What Is SmartLipo®?
SmartLipo® is a body contouring procedure. It uses a laser to remove fat deposits from different areas on the body. The knees, back, abdomen, neck, face, thighs, and legs are some of the areas of the body that can be treated with SmartLipo®.
The Treatment
Before Dr. Patino can insert the cannula, or tube, he must make small incisions in the treatment area. The heat from the laser will cause the fat to liquefy after the cannula is inserted. The fat will then be suctioned out of the body with the same cannula. The amount of time that it takes to perform SmartLipo® can vary, depending on the areas of the body that are being treated. This is an outpatient procedure, which means that the patient will be able to leave once it has been completed.
